The Aston Martin DB5 needs no introduction. The saloon version, of course, is the iconic James Bond car! It featured in several of the James Bond films notably Goldfinger, Thunderball, Golden Eye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale, Skyfall and the last Bond adventure, Spectre. It is regarded by most Aston Martin experts "as the most beautiful model ever built".

In 1959, after a stunningly successful decade in international motorsport including track racing and road rallies, Aston Martin embarked on a new series of cars. The first of the new design was the DB4 which featured the entirely new Tadek Marek designed 6-cylinder engine, and a all aluminium body designed by the famous Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring. The DB4 engine capacity was 3.7 Litres and the design featured a magnesium alloy block with steel wet liners. For the DB5 capacity was increased to just under 4 Litres (3.995cc), which propelled the car to a top speed of 145 MPH (233KM/H). The DB4 and a few early DB5's had a 4 speed David Brown gearbox plus overdrive, but soon this was replaced with the far superior 5 speed ZF gearbox that this car was supplied with.

The design had 15" Chromium Wire Wheels and Girling disc brakes. Standard equipment on the DB5 included reclining seats, wool pile carpets, electric windows, twin fuel tanks, oil cooler, magnesium-alloy body built to the Superleggera
patent technique all complemented with a full hide interior.

Supplied to F.F Shirts (London) Ltd on the 12th March 1965, the car has had only 6 former keepers since new which is confirmed and documented in the large and detailed history
file.

The last keeper whom acquired the Aston Martin in 2010 commissioned a 100-point body off restoration which was completed in 2013. Since that date, the DB5 has covered less than 6,000 miles.
